CHRISTIANSBURG, VA, Oct. 15, 2026 – MELD PrintWorks Corporation announces the construction of a new additive manufacturing facility in Falling Branch Corporate Park, Christiansburg, Virginia.
MELD PrintWorks Corporation will be moving into a brand-new 12,000 square foot facility in 2027. The new purpose-built facility will provide PrintWorks with the necessary room for expansion of operations.
“This building will facilitate bigger parts made by larger MELD metal printers. This investment in Montgomery County, Virginia reflects the rich resources of our community, where manufacturing is celebrated and technology is critical,” stated CEO Nanci Hardwick.

As global supply chain constraints continue to impact the availability of traditional metal forgings and castings, industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, and shipbuilding have increasingly turned to MELD PrintWorks for high-performance components. The newly custom-designed building will house expanded production lines, including next-generation solid-state 3D printing equipment capable of fabricating large-scale parts without melting the underlying metal alloy.
Larry Vicari, President, added
“Our trajectory over the last few years has been driven entirely by our customers’ needs for reliable, open-atmosphere metal printing that side-steps traditional casting vulnerabilities. This dedicated new facility will allow us to scale operations, implement enhanced quality control architectures, and provide our customers with high-value components at unmatched lead times.“
The new facility is specifically designed to transition MELD’s solid-state technology directly into high-throughput production environments. It will allow PrintWorks to scale the manufacturing of massive components made of highly sought-after alloys including aluminum, titanium, and copper.
The strategic expansion positions MELD PrintWorks at the epicenter of manufacturing innovation in southwest Virginia, leveraging close regional ties to high-tier engineering institutions to maintain an advanced workforce pipeline.
About MELD PrintWorks
MELD PrintWorks Corporation utilizes the innovative MELD process to deliver high-performance components in various metal alloys, catering to industries that demand precision and durability. Specializing in aluminum, titanium, and copper, MELD PrintWorks delivers large, high-value metal components with reduced lead times. The MELD process is an additive manufacturing technique that enables the solid-state deposition of metals, bypassing the melting stage and preserving material integrity. This approach yields components that are free from porosity and cracking, offering superior strength and durability. MELD PrintWorks leverages this technology to manufacture large metal parts for industries including defense, aerospace, automotive, and shipbuilding.
